ClearShield® Glass Protectant
Keeping Your Glass Shower Door Clean,
Hygienic & Sparkly

Clearshield® Benefits
Clearshield® glass surface protection, a special polymeric resin, reacts chemically with the glass at a molecular level to modify its surface properties. This special polymeric coating is formulated to help your glass stay look new; resists stains, hard water, dirt, and discoloration. It acts as a 'non-stick' barrier, keeping contaminants from sticking to the glass surface. This strong, multi-molecular bond provides years of proven protection. ClearShield® simply creates an easy-to-clean surface for your shower, saving you time whilst promoting a hygienic environment.

We Apply Clearshield® For You
ClearShield® is a safe, non-hazardous liquid that we apply at the time of your glass shower door purchase. During the design and configuration process, you will have the option to choose ClearShield for your shower. Once chosen, we will then apply ClearShield with hand application pads, manual spray units, semi- and fully-automatic application equipment to the glass of your shower.

The Clearshield® Application Process

During the preparation process, the glass is washed thoroughly and dried. Then the glass surface is inspected for irregularities and a formulated neutralizer is applied.

A specially formulated conditioner is applied to prepare the glass surface at the molecular level in order to bond to the ClearShield® protective coat.

We then apply ClearShield® polymeric resin to the glass surface with a compressor at high pressure. The polymeric resin forms a very thin, multi-molecular protective layer and becomes part of the glass through a strong chemical bond.

The Glass is cleaned and dried. Regular water is sprayed on the glass. If a chemical bond has occurred, water will bead and roll off the glass. Glass is cleaned again, then sealed and buffed to finalize the ClearShield process.

Case Study by Dulles Glass
The Sanderson Hotel - London, UK
Shower cubicles in this chic hotel in London's West End were restored to their original pristine condition thanks to the award-winning ClearShield® System. The project at the lavish urban retreat involved renovating and protecting sandblasted glass shower cubicles in 150 rooms. Although an attractive and popular option, sandblasted glass is especially vulnerable to surface contamination such as finger marks, and as a result can soon lose its visual appeal, in addition to limescale. ClearShield® was the solution, and it is proven to resist these problems.

Case Study by ClearShield
Voile D'or Hotel - Bel Ombre, Mauritius
This luxury four-star hotel is located in the South West Coast in the beautiful Mauritius countryside. Glass shower doors in all of the hotel's 180 rooms were treated with ClearShield® for easier-to-clean, pristine-looking glass as well as improved hygiene. Many other hotels in the region have also had the benefits of ClearShield® treatment on their glass shower enclosures

Case Study by ClearShield
TheToaster Building - Sydney, Australia
With a prime location on the waterfront, ClearShield® was applied to protect the glass against atmospheric and marine contamination. The Toaster Building was part of a new development that was completed in time for the 2000 Sydney Olympics.

Clearshield FAQs
Yes! When treated with ClearShield ®, your glass is protected during daily use. ClearShield ® Shower Protector:
- Prevents hard-water stains and limescale-induced clouding.
- Discourages bacterial growth that can stain the surface of the glass.
- Provides a non-stick, easy-clean surface.
Our specialists will apply ClearShield® glass treatment prior to installation and provide detailed after-care instructions.
No. However, if the shower glass is treated with ClearShield®, then the glass is guaranteed by ClearShield® and stands against corrosion and stains. We will replace any glass that is guaranteed by ClearShield®. Scratches aren't covered by our warranty, and probably can't be removed.
For best results, and to maximize the performance of your ClearShield® protected shower glass, simply rinse your glass shower door with water and squeegee dry after each use. Then clean your shower glass every 2 - 3 weeks with ClearShield® After Care. ClearShield® After Care is safe to use on all shower hardware and framework. We do recommend using After Care weekly in hard water areas.
DO NOT USE: Abrasive cleaning methods, pads, and compounds, highly alkaline cleaners, or commercial strength such as Lime Away on any ClearShield® treated Glass. Windex will not harm ClearShield® treated glass, however, they're unnecessarily strong, and not recommended. Instead, use our amazing Glass Cleaner, we promise you will love it!
Yes, and we recommend this glass protection application for all of our glass products. Whether you choose a framed or frameless glass shower enclosure for your bathroom, ClearShield® is Dulles Glass' recommendation to keep your shower glass looking new at all times.
Make sure you register for your ClearShield® Warranty, online through the company clearshieldonline.com to activate your extended warranty right after your shower door purchase. Then if there is a problem, contact them for directions. This warranty is separate from the Dulles Glass Warranties you may have on the hardware and shower door itself.
Even diligent cleaning will not prevent unprotected shower glass from corrosion forever. Though it doesn't appear to be, glass is porous, and without a solid surface barrier protection like ClearShield®, it will eventually become corroded by hard-water stains and other contaminants.
If you don't want glass protection treatment for your glass shower door, it will be especially important to squeegee dry untreated shower glass after every use. Also, the shower glass will need frequent cleaning. Avoid using harsh or abrasive cleaning products on your shower glass. Abrasive cleaners will hasten the decline of your glass by eating into its porous nature providing spaces for contaminants to settle.
Remember, though, that if you're ever planning on selling your home, your beautiful high-end bathroom will lose its appeal to future home buyers if there are hard-water stains or clouding on your glass.
Absolutely. The bathroom and the kitchen are the most important considerations for prospective home buyers. A remodeling magazine survey on the future of new homes revealed that home buyers expect more upgrades in new construction – a demand struggling home builders are willing to meet. So, upgrading your bathroom makes the resale value of your home more competitive against new homes.
Also, glass shower doors are a great investment because these durable structures will hold their value. With our ClearShield® glass protection and proper aftercare, your glass shower door will remain "like-new" for years to come.
No, it is not required to use our product line. However, ClearShield® After Care is specially formulated to gently clean shower glass, is environmentally safe, and comes with a guaranteed 10-year warranty from the company.
