Good Fit
The Tela DIY kit is the same fixed glass shower screen as our installed builds - a single panel of 3/8" tempered glass with no door, no rollers, and no hinges. It mounts to the wall with a discreet U-channel and braces back to the wall with a support bar, so it simply blocks the line of water travel on a walk-in or curbless shower where a swinging door is not needed. Same 3/8" tempered glass and same hardware spec as our installed Tela - you just handle the install in 2-4 hours with a helper and save the install premium. With no moving parts it is the simplest install in the lineup and has the fewest long-term failure points. Need an enclosure with a door you open and close? A hinged or sliding model is the better fit - the Tela is a fixed splash guard, not a full enclosure.
You have a walk-in shower with a long water-throw distance, where a panel blocks the spray and no full door is needed.
You want a clean, open, screen-only look for a curbless or wet-room layout.
You are retrofitting an existing walk-in or tub and want the simplest possible install - or want to save on labor.

Install Notes
Most homeowners install the Tela in 2-4 hours with a helper - it is the simplest install in our lineup because there is no door to hang, no rollers, and no hinges to align. The panel mounts in a wall U-channel and braces back to the wall with the support bar, so once it is set, it stays put. The kit includes a printed step-by-step guide and a QR-code install video - and free phone/text/video support if anything looks off. Plan for two people: the trickiest step is lifting the glass panel into place.
Mark and drill the U-channel to the studs or solid blocking using the included template; shim behind it if the wall is out of plumb.
With a helper, lift the panel and seat it into the wall channel. Add the optional floor pin if your panel is a taller size.
Run the support bar from the top of the panel back to the wall and anchor it so the fixed glass stays rigid.
Confirm the panel is plumb, run the vinyl seals, silicone the wall joint, and let it cure 24 hours before the first shower.
Care And Maintenance
Use these simple maintenance habits to keep the Chrome hardware and 3/8" clear looking clean after installation.
Squeegee after use and wipe down with a non-abrasive cleaner to reduce spotting and soap-film buildup.
Use a soft microfiber cloth and avoid harsh chemical sprays directly on handles, rollers, and visible trim.
A quick visual check keeps the enclosure sliding cleanly and helps you catch alignment or wear before it becomes a leak issue.
Shipping And Warranty
Review fulfillment timing, return windows, install support, and the DIY warranty before you choose a stocked kit.

Custom
For openings outside the two stocked sizes, we fabricate a custom Tela panel to your exact dimensions. Same 1-year DIY warranty, same hardware.

1-Year Warranty
Up to 3-Year Warranty
Plastic seals are wear items on both DIY and professional installs (1-year coverage) - a yearly look-over keeps water where it belongs. Damage from improper installation (over-torqued hardware, wrong anchors) isn't covered - our free DIY support line helps you avoid it.

Q&A
Yes — the Tela fixed screen ships as a single panel with U-channel mounting. Plan 2 to 3 hours including silicone cure prep. The Chrome hardware sets into the U-channel for a clean frameless look.
A 4-foot level, tape measure, pencil, electric drill (with carbide masonry bit if mounting to tile), Phillips and flathead screwdrivers, silicone caulk gun, painter's tape, rubber mallet, and a helper for the glass-setting step. Anchors, screws, seals, and Chrome hardware are all in the kit. You supply 100% silicone (kitchen/bath grade).
First-time installers average 3 to 4 hours from unboxing to first water test. The longest single step is leveling and securing the top track — about 45 minutes if your wall is plumb, longer if you need to shim. No showering for 24 hours after install while silicone cures.
Yes — tile is the most common install scenario. Anchor through tile into wall studs or solid blocking using carbide-tipped drill bits on low speed. Confirm there's stud or blocking at hinge/bracket locations before drilling. Wavy tile or out-of-plumb walls add 30 to 60 minutes but require no tile work on your end.
The 30"×64" kit is sized for openings within typical wall variation. Per May 2026 catalog, this SKU fits wall openings from 30" × 64" (fixed panel, no adjustment range). Measure your opening width at three heights (top, middle, bottom) and use the smallest value — a 1/4" variation top to bottom is common. Pick a kit whose adjustable range covers your smallest measurement.
Custom Tela doors are fabricated to your exact opening. Custom adds 5 to 7 business days to the lead time. If you're between standard sizes, we'll often quote both routes (standard with shims plus custom) so you can compare.
Chrome is the most universal hardware finish — it matches most modern, traditional, and transitional bathroom fixtures including Moen, Delta, Kohler, and Grohe lines. The Chrome on the Tela kit comes color-matched across the hinges, handle, seals, and visible track.
Tela is a fixed glass screen — no moving parts, no hinges, no rollers. It's a single tempered panel anchored into a U-channel along one wall. You walk around the open end. Best over a tub where you want a glass splash guard without a door swing or sliding mechanism.
Yes. The 30-by-64-inch Tela screen mounts to one wall beside a standard tub and stands as a fixed glass splash panel. There is no door to swing or slide and no rollers, so it is the simplest model to fit over a tub. The bottom of the panel sits just above the tub deck, and silicone seals the gap so water stays in the tub.
For a partial enclosure, yes — the 30"×64" screen redirects spray from a single fixed shower head. For dual-head or rain-shower setups with high water volume, plan extra screen length or pair Tela with a curb to fully contain. Position the shower head pointing away from the open end.
A fixed screen blocks the main spray from a wall or handheld showerhead and keeps it off the floor, but it is an open-ended screen, not a sealed enclosure, so some water can pass the open end. It is the right pick when you want an open step-in over the tub plus a splash guard rather than a full door.
DIY-installed Tela kits include a 1-year warranty on glass, hardware, seals, and Chrome finish. Covers manufacturing defects and finish degradation under normal use. Doesn't cover damage from improper install (over-tightened hardware, wrong anchor type) — call our DIY support line if you have questions before drilling.
In-stock kits ship within 2 business days. Standard ground freight runs 3 to 5 business days within the lower 48. Total door-to-door is typically 1 to 2 weeks.
The Tela ships in 2 boxes — one foam-padded crate for the glass panels (~85 lbs total) and one for Chrome hardware. The longer box is roughly 78×8×4 inches and fits through a standard door.
Inspect the boxes at delivery. If you see crushed corners or visible damage, photograph and refuse the delivery — we replace the kit at no charge. If you discover damage after opening, contact us within 48 hours of delivery.
Yes — standard ground shipping to all 48 contiguous states is $300 flat per enclosure. Free pickup also available at our U.S. warehouses, or $95 local delivery within 30 miles of either warehouse. Alaska and Hawaii are available with a freight surcharge; contact us for a quote.
Clear is the standard glass at the listed price. HD Low-Iron, Gray, Bronze, Rain, and Frosted glass each carry different upcharges depending on size. Selecting a glass type updates the price live at checkout.
DIY saves roughly $400 to $700 on the total project versus our professional install option for Tela. You're trading 2 to 4 hours of your time for that savings. Pro install includes measurement, fabrication, and labor with a 3-year warranty; DIY is hardware-warranty only.
Yes — for orders over 5 kits, contact us for trade pricing. We also offer Pro accounts for contractors and bulk-purchase customers.
Hardware is replaceable — call us within 1 year(s) of purchase under the DIY warranty. Glass damage during install isn't covered; always use the suction-cup glass handler if included or have a helper for the glass-setting step.
DIY is 1-year hardware. Professionally installed by Dulles Glass is 3-year hardware AND labor. The DIY trade-off: you save the install cost in exchange for a shorter warranty window and no labor coverage.
A step-by-step install video is referenced on the printed instructions (QR code) and on our YouTube channel. The Tela walkthrough runs about 15 to 20 minutes for the full install.
Yes — live phone, text, and video support 8am–8pm ET, 7 days a week. Best to call before drilling permanent holes if anything is unclear.
Most install steps are reversible. The U-channel can be re-anchored (filling old screw holes with caulk). Hinges and brackets can be re-mounted. The only step that's permanent is drilling — measure twice before drilling.
