Good Fit

Is the 60"×64" Vera right for you?

The Vera DIY kit is the same value-tier framed bypass slider as our installed builds - two 1/4" tempered glass panels that ride past each other inside a complete aluminum surround (top rail, bottom threshold, and side frames), with dual towel bars standard. It's the budget pick in our sliding lineup: the full frame and threshold make Vera the most forgiving slider on out-of-square or older openings, and the lighter 1/4" glass is easy to lift for a two-person install. Same glass and hardware as the installed version - you just handle the install in 2-4 hours with a helper and save the install premium. Want less framing or a glass-thickness choice? Mona trades up to semi-frameless and offers both 1/4" and 3/8" glass.

Standard tub enclosures

You're outfitting an apartment renovation, rental turnover, or a tight-budget bathroom refresh.

Over-the-tub installs

Your opening is older or out of square - the full frame and threshold absorb the variation.

Builder-grade upgrades

You would rather have lighter, easier-to-handle 1/4" glass than pay up for a frameless look.

Install Notes

DIY install — what to expect

Most homeowners install the Vera in 2-4 hours with a helper. As a fully framed bypass slider, Vera goes up framed-first: you build the aluminum surround, then drop the rollers and glass into the tracks - one of the more forgiving sliders to install because the frame squares the opening for you. The kit includes a printed step-by-step guide and a QR-code install video - and free phone/text/video support if anything looks off. Plan for two people: the trickiest step is lifting the panels onto the rollers.

  1. 1

Mount the bottom track and top rail

Set the bottom threshold track level on the curb, then mount the top header rail plumb above it using the included template.

  2. 2

    Set the side jambs

Anchor the side frames into the walls so the full aluminum surround is square and tight to the opening.

  3. 3

Hang both bypass panels on the rollers

Lift each sliding panel onto its rollers in the top track and seat it into the bottom guide - this is the two-person step.

  4. 4

    Adjust the glide

Fine-tune the rollers so both panels slide smoothly and the edges line up evenly with the frame.

  5. 5

    Seal and cure

Run the vinyl edge seals and bottom sweep, silicone the frame-to-wall joints, and let it cure 24 hours before the first shower.

Care And Maintenance

Care & maintenance — Chrome

Use these simple maintenance habits to keep the Chrome hardware and 1/4" clear looking clean after installation.

Keep the 1/4" clear

Squeegee after use and wipe down with a non-abrasive cleaner to reduce spotting and soap-film buildup.

Protect the Chrome hardware

Use a soft microfiber cloth and avoid harsh chemical sprays directly on handles, rollers, and visible trim.

Check seals and guides periodically

A quick visual check keeps the enclosure sliding cleanly and helps you catch alignment or wear before it becomes a leak issue.

Compare to Mona

Vera vs. Mona

Vera is a fully framed bypass - top rail, bottom threshold, and side frames around 1/4 inch glass. Mona is semi-frameless with removable side jambs and offers both 1/4 inch and 3/8 inch glass. Vera is the simplest, lowest-price slider; Mona trades up to less framing and a glass-thickness choice.

Q&A

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I install the Vera 60"×64" sliding bathtub door myself?

Yes — sliding kits like Vera are among the easier DIY shower door types because the track does most of the alignment work. Plan 3 to 4 hours with basic tools. The hardest single step is leveling the top track; once that's right, the rollers and panels go in quickly.

What tools do I need for the install?

A 4-foot level, tape measure, pencil, electric drill (with carbide masonry bit if mounting to tile), Phillips and flathead screwdrivers, silicone caulk gun, painter's tape, rubber mallet, and a helper for the glass-setting step. Anchors, screws, seals, and Chrome hardware are all in the kit. You supply 100% silicone (kitchen/bath grade).

How long does the Vera install take?

First-time installers average 3 to 4 hours from unboxing to first water test. The longest single step is leveling and securing the top track — about 45 minutes if your wall is plumb, longer if you need to shim. No showering for 24 hours after install while silicone cures.

Will the kit work on my tile or stone walls?

Yes — tile is the most common install scenario. Anchor through tile into wall studs or solid blocking using carbide-tipped drill bits on low speed. Confirm there's stud or blocking at hinge/bracket locations before drilling. Wavy tile or out-of-plumb walls add 30 to 60 minutes but require no tile work on your end.

Will the Vera 60"×64" fit my bathtub opening?

The 60"×64" kit is sized for openings within typical wall variation. Matches catalog-listed siblings in this SKU size, this SKU fits wall openings from 56" to 60". Measure your opening width at three heights (top, middle, bottom) and use the smallest value — a 1/4" variation top to bottom is common. Pick a kit whose adjustable range covers your smallest measurement.

What if my opening is between Vera kit sizes?

Vera kits cover specific in-stock sizes only — they don't offer custom fabrication. If your opening is between sizes, check our other models (Metro, Eclipse, Solo, or Prima) which support advanced customization for any opening within a wider range.

Will the Chrome hardware match my fixtures?

Chrome is the most universal hardware finish — it matches most modern, traditional, and transitional bathroom fixtures including Moen, Delta, Kohler, and Grohe lines. The Chrome on the Vera kit comes color-matched across the hinges, handle, seals, and visible track.

Why is Vera only 1/4-inch glass?

Vera is designed as the value sliding option — 1/4-inch tempered safety glass keeps weight down for easier DIY install and reduces the price 15-20% vs 3/8-inch models like Metro and Eclipse. The 1/4-inch is still tempered to safety standards; it's just lighter and slightly less substantial-feeling.

How does Vera compare to Metro and Eclipse?

Metro and Eclipse use 3/8-inch glass; Vera uses 1/4-inch. Identical Chrome hardware options and sliding-roller mechanism, similar size range. Vera is ~15-20% less expensive and feels lighter. Pick Vera for a guest bath or budget remodel; pick Metro/Eclipse for a master bath where you want the heavier-glass feel.

Will this kit fit a standard 5-foot bathtub?

Yes. The 60-by-64-inch size is built for a standard 5-foot (60-inch) alcove tub, the most common bathtub in U.S. homes. The 64-inch height covers the tub opening without running floor-to-ceiling like a walk-in door. Measure your tub's wall-to-wall width to confirm you land in the 56 to 60 inch range.

Will the door keep water inside the tub?

Yes. The panels overlap and the bottom track guides splash back toward the tub, while the side jamb seals against the wall. For a tub-shower, run the water with the sliding panel closed on the showerhead side and the spray stays in the tub.

What warranty comes with the kit?

DIY-installed Vera kits include a 1-year warranty on glass, hardware, seals, and Chrome finish. Covers manufacturing defects and finish degradation under normal use. Doesn't cover damage from improper install (over-tightened hardware, wrong anchor type) — call our DIY support line if you have questions before drilling.

How quickly does this ship?

In-stock kits ship within 2 business days. Standard ground freight runs 3 to 5 business days within the lower 48. Total door-to-door is typically 1 to 2 weeks.

How is it packaged?

The Vera ships in 2 boxes — one foam-padded crate for the glass panels (~85 lbs total) and one for Chrome hardware. The longer box is roughly 78×8×4 inches and fits through a standard door.

What if my package arrives damaged?

Inspect the boxes at delivery. If you see crushed corners or visible damage, photograph and refuse the delivery — we replace the kit at no charge. If you discover damage after opening, contact us within 48 hours of delivery.

Do you ship to all 50 states?

Yes — standard ground shipping to all 48 contiguous states is $300 flat per enclosure. Free pickup also available at our U.S. warehouses, or $95 local delivery within 30 miles of either warehouse. Alaska and Hawaii are available with a freight surcharge; contact us for a quote.

Is glass type an upcharge?

Clear is the standard glass at the listed price. HD Low-Iron, Gray, Bronze, Rain, and Frosted glass each carry different upcharges depending on size. Selecting a glass type updates the price live at checkout.

How does the DIY price compare to professional install?

DIY saves roughly $400 to $700 on the total project versus our professional install option for Vera. You're trading 2 to 4 hours of your time for that savings. Pro install includes measurement, fabrication, and labor with a 3-year warranty; DIY is hardware-warranty only.

Is there a discount on multiple kits?

Yes — for orders over 5 kits, contact us for trade pricing. We also offer Pro accounts for contractors and bulk-purchase customers.

What if I damage a part during install?

Hardware is replaceable — call us within 1 year(s) of purchase under the DIY warranty. Glass damage during install isn't covered; always use the suction-cup glass handler if included or have a helper for the glass-setting step.

How does the DIY warranty compare to professional install?

DIY is 1-year hardware. Professionally installed by Dulles Glass is 3-year hardware AND labor. The DIY trade-off: you save the install cost in exchange for a shorter warranty window and no labor coverage.

Where can I find install videos for this kit?

A step-by-step install video is referenced on the printed instructions (QR code) and on our YouTube channel. The Vera walkthrough runs about 15 to 20 minutes for the full install.

Can I call for help during install?

Yes — live phone, text, and video support 8am–8pm ET, 7 days a week. Best to call before drilling permanent holes if anything is unclear.

What if I miss a step and need to start over?

Most install steps are reversible. The U-channel can be re-anchored (filling old screw holes with caulk). Hinges and brackets can be re-mounted. The only step that's permanent is drilling — measure twice before drilling.
