Same glass, lower price.
Identical 3/8" tempered glass and stainless-steel hardware as our installed Metro builds - you save the install premium.
DIY Kit Overview
Same frameless single sliding shower door as our installed builds, shipped flat-pack to your door - same glass, same hardware, same 1-year warranty. Free phone, text, and video DIY support included.
The Metro DIY kit is the same frameless single sliding shower door as our installed builds - one fixed glass panel beside one sliding panel that glides on a top-mounted stainless-steel header track. Because the door slides instead of swinging, it never arcs into the room, which makes Metro the configuration built for standard tub and alcove openings where a hinged door would hit the vanity or wall. Same 3/8" tempered glass, same stainless-steel hardware, same factory nano-coating - you just handle the install in 2-4 hours with a helper and save the install premium.
Wider opening (60"+) that needs dual entry? Eclipse - a bypass slider with two moving panels - may be the better fit.

Measuring guide
Approximate measurements are fine for a quote - but tempered glass can't be re-cut, so a custom-fabricated build is the safer path if your opening falls between stocked sizes.
Measure across the top, middle, and bottom. Use the smallest value - a 1/4" variation top to bottom is normal.
From the curb or shower floor up to where the top header track will mount - this sets the panel height.
Hold a level against each side wall. Minor lean is absorbed by the install; a severe lean is worth a pro measurement.
If your shower has a curb, make sure it is wide enough (about 2-15/16") to land the bottom guide.
Install Notes
Most homeowners install the Metro in 2-4 hours with a helper. Metro runs on a single-slider layout - one fixed panel and one sliding panel on a top-mounted stainless-steel header track. The rollers are adjustable and the install is reversible, so the panel can be trued after mounting and set to open from the left or right. The kit includes a printed step-by-step guide and a QR-code install video - and free phone/text/video support if anything looks off. Plan for two people: the trickiest step is lifting the glass into place.
Anchor the top header track to the studs or substrate using the included template, then set the bottom guide so the sliding panel tracks straight.
Seat the fixed glass panel against the wall jamb and secure it plumb so the sliding panel has a true reference to glide against.
Hang the sliding panel on its rollers, then fine-tune the adjustable rollers until it glides smoothly and sits even against the fixed panel.
Fit the vertical seals and bottom sweep, silicone the wall joints, and let it cure 24 hours before the first shower.

Shipping
Ships in 2 business days from our U.S. warehouses. Free pickup, $95 local delivery within 30 miles, or $300 flat nationwide to the lower 48.
Custom
For openings outside the 3 stocked sizes, we fabricate a custom Metro to your exact opening. Same 1-year DIY warranty, same stainless-steel hardware.
Returns
Free return shipping on unopened kits. Tempered glass cannot be recut, so cut, drilled, or installed glass is non-returnable.
Support
Phone, text, or video call 8am-5pm ET, 7 days a week. The number is in your kit instructions. Our support team has installed every kit we sell.
1-Year Warranty
Up to 3-Year Warranty
Plastic seals and door sweeps are wear items on both DIY and professional installs (1-year coverage) - a yearly look-over keeps water where it belongs. Damage from improper installation (over-torqued hardware, wrong anchors) isn't covered - our free DIY support line helps you avoid it.

Q&A
Most homeowners with basic DIY skills install the Metro in 2-4 hours with a helper. The kit includes a printed step-by-step guide, a 12-minute install video (QR code in the box), and free phone, text, and video support 8am-5pm ET, 7 days. The trickiest single step is lifting the glass panel into place - plan for two people.
Drill (with carbide masonry bit for tile), 4-foot level, tape measure, silicone caulk gun, painter's tape, Phillips and flathead screwdrivers, rubber mallet, and a helper. The kit includes all anchors, screws, seals, and the install template. No specialty tools required.
First-time installers average 2 to 4 hours from unboxing to first water test, including silicone application. Add 30 to 60 minutes if you're drilling through tile or replacing previous hardware. Plan 24 hours of silicone cure time before the first shower.
Yes - tile is the most common install scenario. Anchor through tile into wall studs or solid blocking using carbide-tipped drill bits on low speed. Confirm there's stud or blocking at the mounting points before drilling. Wavy tile or out-of-plumb walls add 30 to 60 minutes but require no tile work on your end.
Tempered glass cannot be recut, so we don't accept returns on cut-to-size kits - but we'll work with you. Call our DIY line before ordering custom for Metro to confirm dimensions, or use the size dropdown to switch to an in-stock size that fits.
A helper is strongly recommended for the Metro install - specifically for the glass-setting step (lifting and aligning panels into the hinges or track). Everything else (measuring, drilling, anchoring, sealing) is solo-friendly. Total time with a helper: 2 to 4 hours. Solo with workarounds: 4 to 6 hours.
Ships in 2 business days from our U.S. warehouses. Free pickup at either location. Local delivery within 30 miles is $95. Nationwide shipping is $300 flat per enclosure, anywhere in the lower 48. Standard ground freight runs 3 to 5 business days. Door-to-door is typically 1 to 2 weeks.
Yes - standard ground shipping to all 48 contiguous states. Alaska and Hawaii are available with a freight surcharge; contact us for a quote.
Inspect at delivery. If you see crushed corners or visible damage, photograph and refuse the delivery - we replace the kit at no charge. If you discover damage after opening, contact us within 48 hours and we ship replacements in 2 business days.
DIY Metro runs $700-$809; professionally installed runs $1,899-$2,499. The install premium covers laser measurement, fabrication-to-fit, in-home installation, old-door removal, and the upgraded 3-year parts+labor warranty (vs 1-year DIY hardware-only).
Yes - for orders of 5+ kits, contact us for trade pricing. We also offer Dulles Glass PRO accounts for contractors, designers, and bulk-purchase customers with consistent volume.
1-year warranty on glass, hardware, seals, and finish under normal use. Manufacturing defects are covered. Damage from improper install (over-torqued hardware, wrong anchor for substrate) is not - call our DIY line first if you're not sure.
Yes - if you're in our install service area and the kit is unopened, we'll credit the DIY purchase against an installed quote. Enter your ZIP on the install hub to check coverage, or call (866) 452-7707. Out-of-area orders stay DIY (we don't sub-contract installs nationally).
A step-by-step install video is referenced on the printed instructions (QR code) and on our YouTube channel. The Metro walkthrough runs about 15 to 20 minutes for the full install.
Yes - live phone, text, and video support 8am-5pm ET, 7 days a week. Best to call before drilling permanent holes if anything is unclear.
Compare to Eclipse
Metro is a single-slider with one fixed panel and one sliding panel - built for standard tub and alcove openings (about 46-60" wide). Eclipse is a bypass slider with two sliding panels and dual entry, for wider openings (60"+) where a single slider would block half the entry.

Frameless bypass slider - two moving panels, dual entry, refined header detailing. For wider openings (60"+) where a single slider would block half the entry.
